First, the cover to Adventure Comics #4, shown above. I cant believe Superboy Prime is coming back already. I thought the way he was left stuck in the real world as an agry fanboy in the final chapter of LO3W was hillarious. I think it's too soon for him to come back, but I have lots of faith in Geoff Johns writing ability. However, I could be jumping the gun. Maybe Prime wont be back at all and he's just referenced in that issues story and the cover is there just to mess with us! I look forward to finding out.
Next up a Blackest Night teaser, hmmmm. Looks like Brainiac 5 to me. Please correct me if I'm wrong but Braniac 5 is alive and kicking in the Legion of the future, right? Why would he have a ring? Do the Legion come back to deal with the Blackest Night and Brainie some how obtains a ring? Very interesting. Someone please help me out here, what do you guys think?
Justice League Of America’s Vibe #4 Review

Gypsy and Vibe finally meet. Vibe #4 Sterling Gates’ second issue on the
title is a more accomplished work. However it is just a mildly entertaining
read. ...

I have some, uh, theories regarding these teasers.
ReplyDelete1. I think Superboy-Prime will hear all the hype about Blackest Night on the DC message boards in the "real world", so he'll do whatever it takes to come back to the "DCU" and help out the Black Lanterns. Maybe that's why it looks like he's chasing the Black Lantern power rings on the cover. In the end, however, I think he'll fail.
2. I actually think that's Vril Dox from R.E.B.E.L.S. on the second cover, meaning that Blackest Night will definitely cross over into other DC ongoing titles. But, hey, it could be Brainiac 5. Heck, I want it to be Brainiac 5.
Could this be a Prime from before he's yanked to the future and Lo3W? That might explain the garb, since I don't think he can get that on Earth-Prime. Unless it is a non-functioning costume he made, which would be hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI also think that it is too soon to bring Prime back but that LOTW story should have ended last year, right? Since the book was so late it does make it seem like Prime hasn't been gone that long in the DCU but if the book would have shipped on time he would not have been around for more than 6 months or so.
ReplyDeleteLike the first commenter said, I do think that is Vril Dox in the second cover. I really hope the Blackest Night will help raise sales on REBELS if there is a crossover between the two. It's one of my favorite books that I am currently reading.
They're some good theories on Prime guys.
ReplyDeleteAs for the 2nd pic, I think you guys are prob right and it is Vril Dox. Makes more sense.
